Boeing has delivered the 100th contracted B737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) to the rapidly expanding e-commerce business. AerCap Cargo received the aircraft after it was converted at Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services Co (BSAS), the site of the first B737-800BCF conversion line. According to a press announcement, the plane has been leased to GOL Linhas Aéreas, which will operate it for a Latin American e-commerce company.
“We are happy to be a part of this milestone,” stated Rich Greener, Head of AerCap Cargo. Since the 737-800BCF project was launched in 2016, the e-commerce market has risen due to growing demand from e-commerce enterprises. The aircraft is quickly becoming the workhorse for express air cargo and e-commerce networks due to its adaptability.”
