Ashwini Vaishnaw urges industry-academia synergy at NAMTECH to build skilled talent for India’s manufacturing future.

Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, emphasised the need for a future-ready workforce to drive India’s manufacturing growth, aligning with the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. Addressing a high-level roundtable with industry leaders and academia at NAMTECH, the Minister called for deeper collaboration to address talent gaps in Industry 4.0 technologies.
He welcomed the visiting MIT delegation and praised the Manufacturing, Engineering, and Technology (MET) initiative by NAMTECH as a pivotal step toward transforming India into a global tech hub. NAMTECH aims to skill individuals across shop-floor, design, and research roles, backed by government support and industry collaboration.
The event also witnessed the signing of an MoU between NAMTECH and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, Vadodara, to promote joint efforts in smart manufacturing, logistics, and transportation innovation.
With support from partners like Siemens, Analog Devices, and Applied Materials, NAMTECH is building infrastructure and scholarships in priority sectors. The Minister urged all stakeholders to seize this moment and co-create transformative solutions for India’s industrial future.
