APSEZ secures 30-year concession to develop and operate Berth No. 13 at Deendayal Port, Gujarat.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), India’s largest port operator, has signed a concession agreement with the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) to develop and manage Berth No. 13 at Deendayal Port, Kandla, Gujarat. The project will be undertaken by APSEZ’s wholly-owned subsidiary, DPA Container and Clean Cargo Terminal (DPACCCTL), according to an official statement.
The agreement grants APSEZ a 30-year concession to design, build, finance, operate, and transfer (DBFOT) the berth for handling multipurpose clean cargo, including containers. This development follows the letter of intent received by APSEZ in July 2024.
Ashwani Gupta, CEO of APSEZ, expressed that the new berth will enhance their presence at Deendayal Port, diversifying their operations by adding clean cargo to their existing dry bulk handling. Berth No. 13, with a length of 300 meters and an annual capacity of 5.7 million tonnes, is expected to be operational by FY27, strengthening APSEZ’s services for customers across Gujarat and North India.
