CCI Worldwide invests ₹106 crore in ‘Trans Africa’ to transform logistics and unlock Africa’s trade potential.

CCI Worldwide Logistics, the global freight-forwarding arm of CCI Group, has unveiled ‘Trans Africa’, a pioneering logistics platform aimed at transforming intra-African trade. Backed by an estimated ₹106 crore investment, the initiative is designed to bridge critical supply chain gaps, expand regional connectivity, and unlock new growth opportunities across the continent.
At its core, Trans Africa is a technology-led, multimodal freight service expected to handle 5,000 TEUs annually via air and sea, offering a 15% projected ROI. The platform’s first phase will cover strategic markets including Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, and Egypt, with further expansion planned into Francophone West Africa, Central Africa, and landlocked countries like Uganda and Zambia.
“The launch of Trans Africa is more than a service—it’s a catalyst for growth,” said Satish Singh, Vice President – P&L, CCI Worldwide Logistics. “We’re enabling seamless trade that will contribute to Africa’s economic prosperity while connecting it to global markets.”
Why TransAfrica Matters Now
Trade within Africa accounts for just 16% of the continent’s exports, according to UNCTAD, revealing a massive untapped potential. With the rollout of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and forecasts of maritime trade increasing from 58 million to 132 million tonnes by 2030, there’s a clear need for smarter, scalable, and digitally enabled logistics solutions.
Trans Africa addresses persistent roadblocks like fragmented infrastructure, cumbersome customs procedures, inflated shipping costs, and lack of visibility—issues that have long hampered intra-African supply chains.
Key features:
- End-to-End Freight management across ocean, air, road, and rail, with full tracking.
- AI-Powered Smart Routing & Carrier Matching to optimise time and cost efficiency.
- Digital customs clearance with API integration for over 20 African countries.
- Real-Time Visibility Dashboards and notifications at every logistics milestone.
- Unified Documentation & Compliance Tools for seamless trade management.
Designed with a mobile-first interface, the platform is optimised for low-bandwidth regions, ensuring accessibility across urban and rural Africa. Its strategic partnerships with ports, border authorities, and regional trade blocs bolster its ability to provide smooth, cross-border movement.
The revenue model includes per-shipment fees based on mode and distance, along with value-added services like cargo insurance, warehousing, and trade finance referrals.
Powering Africa’s trade ecosystem
From pulses and pharmaceuticals to auto parts and automobiles, Trans Africa will offer door-to-door service and real-time shipment visibility—connecting shippers, transporters, and customs agents across South, West, and East Africa. The service is also tailored for a broad customer base, including importers, exporters, 3PLs, e-commerce firms, and NGOs operating in remote or underserved areas.
“CCI is poised to become the preferred logistics partner across Africa,” added Satish Singh. “With transparent pricing, strong infrastructure partnerships, and digital scalability, we’re here to change the game.”
