Jewar’s MMCH to begin operations with airport launch, targeting 2.5 lakh tonnes of cargo in phase one.

The Multi-Modal Cargo Hub (MMCH) at Jewar is set to become operational alongside the launch of international flights from Noida International Airport later this year. Spanning 87 acres, the hub is designed to handle 2.5 lakh tonnes of cargo annually in its first phase and will be India’s first to connect an international cargo terminal (ICT) directly with an integrated warehousing and logistics zone (IWLZ).
Developed by Air India SATS (AISATS), a joint venture between Air India and Singapore Airport Terminal Services, the 30-acre ICT will manage general, perishable, pharmaceutical, express, and high-value cargo. Equipped with motorised workstations, cloud-based management systems, and dedicated docking and truck parking areas, the facility aims to reduce shipment turnaround time significantly.
The cargo hub will feature express lanes for e-commerce and time-sensitive shipments, a single-window community system for real-time cargo visibility, and track-and-trace capabilities. AISATS is also aligning with the UP Food Processing Industry Policy 2023 to support agri-processing and logistics, with a planned coolport in phase two to manage temperature-sensitive goods.
Collaboration with e-commerce platforms, logistics providers, and global freight forwarders is already underway. A proposed fruit-based processing unit, backed by a likely ₹350 crore World Bank investment, will be integrated with MMCH’s coolport to boost exports of tinned fruits and juices sourced locally. The MMCH is poised to position northern India as a strategic logistics gateway and a key node in the global China Plus One strategy.
