A 25-year green energy pact accelerates APM Terminals Pipavav’s net-zero vision.
APM Terminals Pipavav has partnered with CleanMax, a leading renewable energy provider, to implement a hybrid wind-solar power project in Gujarat. This initiative aligns with APM Terminals’ goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040 and reducing scope 1 and 2 emissions by 65 percent by 2030, compared to 2022 levels.
The 25-year Power Purchase Agreement includes 3.50 MW of wind and 1.06 MWp of solar capacity under a third-party open access model, executed in two phases between January 2022 and September 2024. The project will generate 54 lakh kWh annually, offsetting 3,822 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions—equivalent to planting over 2.24 lakh trees each year.
Girish Aggarwal, MD of APM Terminals Pipavav, emphasised the terminal’s role as a pioneer in climate responsibility, validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). Kuldeep Jain, MD of CleanMax, highlighted the project’s reliability and contribution to India’s sustainability goals through renewable energy adoption.
