Noida International Airport targets April 2025 for its official launch, with sustainability at its core.
Noida International Airport, a major greenfield project near New Delhi, is set to begin operations in April 2025, with the possibility of an earlier launch. CEO Christoph Schnellmann announced that the airport is in its final construction phase, with the second round of trial operations beginning on November 15. The airport aims to secure its aerodrome license by year-end, with preparations including final calibration of its Instrument Landing System.
Developed by Yamuna International Airport under a public-private partnership, DXN will initially handle 12 million passengers annually, expanding to 70 million in the future. IndiGo and Akasa Airlines have committed to operating from the airport, focusing on domestic routes and exploring international opportunities.
Sustainability is a key focus for DXN, which aims for net-zero emissions, with over 50 percent of its energy coming from renewable sources. Additionally, high-speed rail links are planned to further enhance connectivity as passenger volumes increase.
