Piyush Goyal’s Saudi visit strengthens India-Saudi ties, fosters new investment and trade collaborations.
India’s Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, recently completed a successful visit to Saudi Arabia, where he participated in the 8th Future Investment Initiative (FII) and co-chaired the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the Economy and Investment Committee under the India-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council with Saudi Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman.
The visit focused on enhancing collaboration in key sectors, including artificial intelligence, renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing, as Goyal encouraged international investors to explore India’s high-growth markets. Discussions with Saudi ministers and global business leaders, such as Schneider Electric’s CEO Peter Herweck, led to significant agreements aimed at boosting trade, energy transition, and digital transformation.
Goyal also engaged with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in Saudi Arabia and launched the Lulu Wali Diwali Festival at Lulu Hypermarket, strengthening cultural and economic bonds. Concluding the visit, he inaugurated the ODOP Wall at the Indian Embassy in Riyadh, spotlighting India’s regional products and reinforcing the “Vocal for Local” initiative. This visit underscored India and Saudi Arabia’s commitment to deepening economic partnerships and expanding bilateral trade.
