CJ Darcl uses rail transport to move 34 excavators, advancing green logistics practices.
CJ Darcl Logistics has set a new benchmark in the logistics industry by transporting 34 excavators using specialised rail rakes, including models from Volvo CE, Komatsu India, and Gainwell Commosales (a leading Caterpillar dealer). The equipment was moved from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to Ballabgarh, Haryana, marking a first in the industry for using Indian Railways to aggregate machines from multiple OEMs for such transport.
This initiative aligns with CJ Darcl’s mission to incorporate eco-friendly practices into its operations. “We are driving a transformative shift in how heavy equipment is transported across the nation, in line with India’s vision for modern, sustainable infrastructure,” stated KK Agarwal, CMD of CJ Darcl. Nikhil Agarwal, President of CJ Darcl, emphasised that using rail transport not only minimises their carbon footprint but also sets a new standard in sustainable logistics.
The use of rail rakes, integral to Indian Railways’ infrastructure, allows the efficient handling of heavy loads while reducing environmental impact. CJ Darcl’s innovative approach supports both greener logistics and the government’s infrastructure enhancement goals, demonstrating how innovation and responsibility can coexist in modern logistics.
