DB Schenker unveils a standardised Onboard Courier (OBC) service catering to customers requiring urgent courier solutions for small and high-value shipments. Operating from three continents, the newly established OBC service team ensures 24/7 availability for requests.
The express service boasts real-time tracking, insurance coverage, and optional customs clearance, promising swift and secure delivery. Upon request, customers receive instant quotes and dispatch of a courier person to accompany the cargo item(s) personally on commercial flights, mitigating risks and minimising transit times.
Available for all shipments except dangerous goods, the service witnesses heightened demand from automotive, electronics, fashion, and healthcare sectors. Thorsten Meincke, DB Schenker’s global board member for air & ocean freight, highlights the service’s ability to address unforeseen and short-term customer requirements, opening new market opportunities.
Stefan Pargfrieder, VP of global air freight strategy & development, emphasises the significance of time in determining the value of shipments, underlining the service’s role in meeting urgent needs efficiently. With a standardised offering across continents, DB Schenker aims to bolster its position as a global logistics solution provider.
