In a groundbreaking initiative, Delhi Airport has introduced an Automated Visitor Management System (AVMS) at its cargo premises, marking a significant leap in security and operational efficiency. Developed in collaboration with Carico, the AVMS utilises cutting-edge technology, incorporating the Facial Recognition System (FRS) and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) to restrict access to authorised personnel in the restricted cargo area.
Effective January 15, 2024, the AVMS brings notable improvements to pass issuance, reducing cargo entry pass issuance from 7-8 days to 1-2 days and visitor pass processing from 5–6 minutes to a mere 1-2 minutes. This transformative digital upgrade promises a seamless and expedited experience for all stakeholders involved in cargo operations at Delhi Airport.
The event was inaugurated by DIAL CEO V.K. Jaipuriar, Sanjeev Edward, ED Sudeep Lakhtakia, Head (Security & Vigilance) M. Shashi Kanth, Carico MD Parvinder Singh, and other dignitaries. Key teams, including DIAL, DCSC, Celebi, and Carico, along with other important dignitaries, attended the meeting., which highlighted the successful trial run with over 6,000 passes issued. Additionally, the launch of an online pass application system at [https://cargopassdial.in/] offers enhanced convenience for visitors seeking access.
