X-Press Feeders is set to launch Europe’s first feeder network powered by green methanol. With 14 dual-fuel vessels on order, the company aims to create sustainable ‘green routes’ to the Scandinavia-Baltic region, commencing in 2024.
The first vessel, Eco Maestro, powered by bio methanol, symbolises the company’s commitment to sustainable shipping. Despite methanol distribution challenges, X-Press Feeders plans to promote green shipping globally and foster industry collaboration.
The inaugural voyage from Shanghai to Rotterdam is a crucial step toward reducing CO2 emissions. X-Press Feeders emphasises the need for joint efforts to establish necessary infrastructure and make sustainable shipping financially viable. After the maiden voyage, Eco Maestro will operate green routes in Northern Europe, solidifying X-Press Feeders as a leader in green methanol-powered container shipping.
