The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to construct an 86km expressway linking the Trans-Haryana Expressway with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, providing a faster north-to-west route and relieving vehicular congestion in Delhi-NCR. The Trans-Haryana Expressway, a greenfield project costing Rs 1,400 crore, will run from Paniyala to Alwar in Rajasthan.
Commuters from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab will use the Trans-Haryana Expressway (NH152D), followed by NH-148B in Narnaul, to reach Paniyala on the Haryana-Rajasthan border. There, a new access-controlled road will directly connect with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway at Barodameo in Alwar.
This development will streamline travel for vehicles originating from northern states, as they will no longer need to traverse Delhi-NCR to reach Mumbai. Additionally, it will enhance accessibility to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway for more Haryana districts and reduce the distance between Chandigarh and Jaipur while easing congestion on NH-44 from Srinagar to Kanyakumari.
