Abu Dhabi Mobility launches the emirate’s first pilot run of autonomous delivery vehicles under SASC’s supervision.

The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), under the supervision of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC) and in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), has launched the emirate’s first trial of autonomous delivery vehicles. The pilot, conducted in Masdar City, is in collaboration with K2 and EMX, the logistics subsidiary of 7X, and includes the issuance of Abu Dhabi’s first official license plate for a self-driving delivery unit.
Developed by K2’s subsidiary Autogo, the vehicles use advanced AI and smart mobility technologies to operate independently on urban roads and deliver goods efficiently. Authorities highlighted the trial as a significant step in Abu Dhabi’s smart mobility roadmap, with a long-term goal for 25 per cent of all trips to rely on intelligent transport by 2040.
The initiative supports sustainability by reducing congestion and emissions while enhancing logistics efficiency, with expansion beyond Masdar City planned in the coming months.
